Making a Difference Across the USA in 2017
In 2017, we worked to impact our local community and also traveled around the country participating and speaking at events. Here is a recap of some of the places we visited and what we did to make a difference. -
How Epilepsy and Seizures Affect Siblings
You will see that Livy's experience has greatly impacted Hailey. Our lives would be significantly different if epilepsy and seizures were not a part of it. We are forever balancing what could have been with what life has handed Livy. It is a tortuous process that has no end. It is raw emotion we try to keep hidden. It constantly lurks just beneath the surface ready to show itself. Hailey wanted to express a small piece of that emotion and how what she has seen makes her feel. As she states, "This has to stop!" It is known that epilepsy affects the entire family. We can attest to that statement with 100% accuracy. This video is from three years ago. Livy had a strong seizure that Hailey witnessed and then she wanted to talk about how she felt watching Livy. It is one of those things you put away and hope to forget about because as a parent, it is heartbreaking. But Livy continues to go through difficult times with seizures especially recently. We felt it was more relevant now than ever. As Hailey gets older, she understands more and more about Livy's condition and how serious it is. As much as she does to help Livy and the epilepsy community, she knows that more needs to be done. -
Happy New Year 2018!
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and wonderful 2018! -
A Special Needs Day In The Life Of Livy
This video is a day in the life of Livy. I filmed it when Allison and Hailey were away. Many have wondered how our lives work. Well, this will show you much of what we have to do to make it work. I am dedicating it to all of the fathers and mothers who give everything of themselves to ensure their special kids live the best lives they can. It goes without saying that the most treasured present I have ever received, aside from marrying my best friend, was the gift of Hailey and Livy. I just hope, as many parents do, that I am worthy of this amazing responsibility and incredible blessing. Sending you all much love and the greatest of respect. -
2017 Paul B. Stephens Walk 'n Roll-A-Thon
Livy's school, Paul B Stephens will be having their annual Walk 'n Roll-A-Thon at the end of February. The students will be supporting this fun event and helping to raise money for the school's PTA. The money raised helps to fund family social events, the school prom, classroom supplies and other PTA projects. To reward students for doing a good job during the Walk 'n Roll-A-Thon, Livy's Hope and Fran Haasch Law Group are working together to provide the PTA with additional funding. Our Livy's Hope goal is $500 which the Fran Haasch Law Group has generously offered to match! Any money left over after the students are rewarded will go toward other PTA sponsored events -
