Give All Year Long
Today was a day that none in our house like. Unfortunately, it happens this time every year. It is depressing and makes our home feel a bit empty. It is the day we took down our Christmas tree.

There’s something about putting up the Christmas tree that makes us feel exuberant and joyous. Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat… The neighbors are hanging up the lights. Radio stations are beginning to play holiday music. It’s a wonderful time. I love seeing the ornaments we have collected over the years. There are Livy’s tiny clay feet impressions from when she was in the hospital after she was born, figurines from when Allison and I were kids, Hailey’s holiday art ornaments, and many more.

Before you know it, the day passes, New Year's comes and goes, and it’s time to put away the decorations. I’m sure we’re not alone with how we feel. So this year, we’re going to fill the space with continued optimism. We’re going to put something in the place our Christmas tree resides that reminds us to give on a regular basis and keeps the spirit of hope alive all year long!
