I Choose Livy
Families make many choices on the weekends like where they want to go that day, or who is taking the kids to their sporting events or friends’ houses. There are many weekends where we have to make an interesting decision as well. We get a lot of household work done before Livy wakes up which on some days, can be as late as 11 or 12. But on days when she gets up earlier, the schedule changes.

Livy is not able to do much on her own which means if we are not doing something with her, she has to either sit in her wheelchair or hang out on a mat on the floor and wait for us. As any busy parent will attest to, the weekends are filled with activities but are also catch up days or project days. That is the choice we have to make. Do we get things done or does Livy get some company? There is a nagging feeling of guilt when I see her by herself.

I will say that the majority of the time, I can be found hanging out with Livy. Which means that most of the extra stuff gets done early in the morning, later at night, or not at all. That’s probably why I constantly feel like I’m behind. But with those happy eyes and amazing smile, how can I resist her?
